He worked, among others, at the University of Economics and the University of Wrocław, heading the Department of Macroeconomics and the Institute of Economics. For years, he has been involved in narrative medicine, a sub-discipline of humanistic medicine that was established 20 years ago at Columbia University. He has participated in workshops conducted by representatives of this centre, and has himself conducted workshops on narrative medicine as part of international conferences on hospice care and palliative medicine organised annually by the Medical University of Wrocław. A media scholar, he is a former researcher at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław. His research areas included anthropology of communication and media, literary studies, narrative medicine and public relations. |
Rev. prof. dr hab. | Andrzej Gretkowski | Professor of humanities in the field of pedagogy, doctor habilitated in the discipline of psychology. dr hab. | Marek Bodziany | Doctoral degree in social sciences, in the discipline of security sciences. He received his PhD in social sciences, in the discipline of sociology, in 2009. His scientific output focuses on cultural security, sociology of security, methodology of security research and intercultural communication. He has authored numerous publications, including monographs, articles in scientific journals and chapters in collective works. As a university lecturer, he has taught courses in methodology of security sciences, research methods and techniques, sociology of security, social security, cultural aspects of security and logistics of peace operations. He has received numerous awards for his scientific and organisational achievements, including the Second Degree Award of the Minister of National Defence for his doctoral thesis (2010). He was the supervisor of distinguished bachelor's and master's theses, which were recognised, among others, by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the President of Wrocław and the Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodship. He has acted as a supervisor of scientific circles, including the Sociology of Security Circle and the Social Security Circle, whose members were awarded scholarships by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. He collaborates internationally with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Sorbonne University in Paris (INALCO) and the American College in Athens. He serves as editor-in-chief of the AWL Publishing House and AWL Scientific Journals, and is a founder and honorary member of the Scientific Council of AWL Student Yearbooks. dr hab. | Bożena Janda-Dębek | Psychologist specialising in research on human interactions with urban space, quality of life, neighbourhood attachment and environmental fit. Her work also includes research on psychological aspects of commercial spaces, theories of mental representations and perception of architectural objects in the context of Construct Level Theory (CLT). She received her PhD in 1992 with a dissertation on the psychological difficulties of alcoholics in AA groups, and her habilitation in 2005 for her work on interactional distance in selected social situations. She was affiliated with the University of Wroclaw for more than 40 years, serving, among others, as Vice-Dean and Head of the Department of General Psychology. From 2018 to 2022, she worked at the University of Zielona Góra. She has been involved in organisational, review and expert activities, including as editor-in-chief of the Polish Journal of Applied Psychology and ministerial expert of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Since 2009 he has been affiliated with the Academy of Military Arts as an assistant professor and professor at the university, and since 2011 he has been the director of SPZOZ PIASTUN. His teaching experience includes teaching security, administration and cyber security courses. He specialises in epidemiological risks, health security, security psychology and information systems and organisational management. He has been a supervisor of more than 80 theses, a reviewer of doctoral theses and a co-author of educational programmes. He has participated in numerous research projects financed by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Economy, on topics such as cyber security, national security strategy, threat psychology and the evolution of state security. Since 2018 a Prison Service officer in the rank of second lieutenant, employed as a psychologist in the Therapeutic Department of the Rawicz Penitentiary Institution. Since 2024, he has been the Deputy Head of the Therapeutic Department for convicts with non-psychotic mental disorders or intellectual disabilities. She also works with persons included in the therapy programme for offenders against sexual freedom and morality, committed in connection with disorders of sexual preferences, and convicts addicted to psychoactive substances other than alcohol. He provides training in psychology for staff in the Prison Service, social welfare and education. |

His academic career spans more than a dozen years working with Polish and international youth in Wrocław. He is the author of some 60 articles and four authoritative monographs, such as: "John Cage. Philosophy of a Musical Case' (2011), 'Ethics of Selected Public Trust Professions' (2013), 'Art as Adaptation. Universalism in Evolutionary Aesthetics' (2018) and 'From Aesthetics to Evolutionary Psychology: around Denis Dutton's Instinct for Art' (2021). Dr Luty is also a recipient of a scholarship from the National Science Centre (project "Biology or culture? Art as a natural category") and the Kosciuszko Foundation, which enabled him to undertake a research internship at the University of Oregon.
