He has participated in workshops conducted by representatives of this centre, and has himself conducted workshops on narrative medicine as part of international conferences on hospice care and palliative medicine organised annually by the Medical University of Wrocław. A media scholar, he is a former researcher at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław. | dr hab. | Marek Bodziany | Doctoral degree in social sciences, in the discipline of security sciences. He received his PhD in social sciences, in the discipline of sociology, in 2009. His scientific output focuses on cultural security, sociology of security, methodology of security research and intercultural communication. He has authored numerous publications, including monographs, articles in scientific journals and chapters in collective works. As a university lecturer, he has taught courses in methodology of security sciences, research methods and techniques, sociology of security, social security, cultural aspects of security and logistics of peace operations. He has received numerous awards for his scientific and organisational achievements, including the Second Degree Award of the Minister of National Defence for his doctoral thesis (2010). He was the supervisor of distinguished bachelor's and master's theses, which were recognised, among others, by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the President of Wrocław and the Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodship. He has acted as a supervisor of scientific circles, including the Sociology of Security Circle and the Social Security Circle, whose members were awarded scholarships by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. He collaborates internationally with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Sorbonne University in Paris (INALCO) and the American College in Athens. He serves as editor-in-chief of the AWL Publishing House and AWL Scientific Journals, and is a founder and honorary member of the Scientific Council of AWL Student Yearbooks. He has been involved in several research projects, including on the social and cultural implications of contemporary conflicts and wars in Eastern Europe and the logistics system of the Polish Armed Forces. | dr hab. | Bożena Janda-Dębek | Psychologist specialising in research on human interactions with urban space, quality of life, neighbourhood attachment and environmental fit. Her work also includes research on psychological aspects of commercial spaces, theories of mental representations and perception of architectural objects in the context of Construct Level Theory (CLT). She received her PhD in 1992 with a dissertation on the psychological difficulties of alcoholics in AA groups, and her habilitation in 2005 for her work on interactional distance in selected social situations. She was affiliated with the University of Wroclaw for more than 40 years, serving, among others, as Vice-Dean and Head of the Department of General Psychology. From 2018 to 2022, she worked at the University of Zielona Góra. She has been involved in organisational, review and expert activities, including as editor-in-chief of the Polish Journal of Applied Psychology and ministerial expert of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Her teaching interests include cognitive process psychology, non-verbal communication, psychology of lying and environmental psychology. Since 2009 he has been affiliated with the Academy of Military Arts as an assistant professor and professor at the university, and since 2011 he has been the director of SPZOZ PIASTUN. His teaching experience includes teaching security, administration and cyber security courses. He specialises in epidemiological risks, health security, security psychology and information systems and organisational management. He has been a supervisor of more than 80 theses, a reviewer of doctoral theses and a co-author of educational programmes. He has participated in numerous research projects financed by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Economy, on topics such as cyber security, national security strategy, threat psychology and the evolution of state security. He graduated from Wyższa Szkoła Oficerska Wojsk Łączności (Higher School of Communication Forces) in Zegrze (1995), obtaining the title of telecommunications engineer, and from the University of Wrocław, where he obtained the degree of Master of Arts in political science (2000). He then graduated from the Academy of National Defence in Warsaw with a master's degree in management and command (2003). In 2012, the University of Wrocław conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Humanities, and in 2018 the Naval Academy in Gdynia conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Humanities in the discipline of security sciences. He started his career in the army, holding various positions in units such as the 10th Wrocław Command Regiment, the 2nd Brigade of Territorial Defence and the Higher Officer School of the Land Forces in Wrocław. He participated in the PKW ISAF mission in Afghanistan (2013) and also worked in the Logistics Board - P4 of the General Staff of the Polish Army. In 2016, he took up the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Military Education at the Ministry of Defence. Dr Liberacki is the author of a number of initiatives at the Ministry of Defence, including the implementation of the Constitution for Science, the creation of the Military Computing High School at the Military University of Technology, as well as activities related to cyber security and the organisation of new courses of study for the Polish Armed Forces. His achievements also include coordinating the 'Academic Legion' programme. |
| dr hab. | Jerzy Luty | Jerzy Luty, Ph.D., is a philosopher, aesthetician and professor in the Department of Media and Image Communication at the College of Vocational Training. His academic career spans more than a dozen years working with Polish and international youth in Wrocław. He is the author of some 60 articles and four authoritative monographs, such as: "John Cage. Philosophy of a Musical Case' (2011), 'Ethics of Selected Public Trust Professions' (2013), 'Art as Adaptation. Universalism in Evolutionary Aesthetics' (2018) and 'From Aesthetics to Evolutionary Psychology: around Denis Dutton's Instinct for Art' (2021). Dr Luty is also a recipient of a scholarship from the National Science Centre (project "Biology or culture? Art as a natural category") and the Kosciuszko Foundation, which enabled him to undertake a research internship at the University of Oregon. He has conducted research at renowned universities such as the University of Washington, London School of Economics and Charles University in Prague. Co-principal investigator of the grant "Homo Aestheticus: testing hypotheses of evolutionary aesthetics in four traditional societies" (NCN 2020-2025), carried out at the Institute of Psychology, University of Wrocław. As a populariser of science, Dr Jerzy Luty actively participates in science festivals, universities and symposia. He has appeared, among others, on Radio Three, TOK FM, Polish Radio Programme 2 and in podcasts. He was nominated for an award in the Education Poll of "Gazeta Wrocławska" (2023). Cornelissen on research within the Chronomics Study project in Poland.
