Let's come together to address one of society's most important issues - tackling domestic violence.

The College of Vocational Training is organising a conference "Domestic Violence in Poland. Between theory and practice". - an interdisciplinary event dedicated to analysing the phenomenon of domestic violence from a legal, criminological and practical perspective. The aim of the meeting is to build a more effective system of support and protection.

The conference is aimed at academics and practitioners, as well as all those interested in this topic.

About the event

The conference will be held in online formulaso you can participate from any location. Participation in the event is freeand each passive listener will receive personal certificate of participation.

Anyone interested in the topic of legal protection and assistance for people experiencing violence is welcome to attend.

The event will focus on analysing the legal and institutional support system for people experiencing domestic violence. The presentations will focus on two main areas.

Scientific objectives:

An analysis of the applicable legislation, including the Anti-Domestic Violence Act, the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure;
assessing the effectiveness of protective procedures such as isolation of the offender, restraining orders or orders to leave the premises;
exploring the role of law enforcement and the justice system in protecting people experiencing violence;
review of institutional support mechanisms - cooperation between services, local authorities and NGOs;
identification of barriers and gaps in the legal system and identification of legislative changes needed

Learning objectives:

disseminate knowledge of violence reporting procedures and intervention measures;
Improving the ability to apply the law in practice;
increasing the professional competence of those working with victims of violence;
developing interdisciplinary cooperation between lawyers, officers, psychologists and social workers;
shaping the capacity to assess the effectiveness of legal remedies and seeking ways to improve them.

Important dates

The event will be followed by a publication containing scientific studies and summary of conclusions from discussions. It will be published in both print and electronic form - available to all participants and those interested in domestic violence prevention.
