Conference "Human trafficking - a joint response from academia and society".
On 24-25 October 2025 the National Student Conference and Public Debate entitled "Human trafficking - a joint response from academia and society". The event, organised by the School of Vocational Training, aims to raise awareness of this serious crime and present methods to combat it. The conference will be held in a hybrid format - stationary in the WSKZ Sky Tower conference room (up to 100 people) and online to reach a wide audience.
Purpose and subject matter
The main objective of the conference is education and exchange of experience in the fight against human trafficking. The event will showcase both the actions taken by uniformed services and public institutions, as well as the contribution of the academic world and NGOs in combating this practice. The event is also intended to show how students can engage in awareness-raising on the subject.
Programme and experts
The conference was divided into two days. 24 October is the day of the National Student Conference, while A Public Debate with experts will be held on 25 October. Speakers and panellists will include specialists from the fields of criminology, law and security, providing an interdisciplinary perspective on the problem of human trafficking.
Scientific publication
An integral part of the conference will be the preparation special issue of the journal State and Security, which will be devoted entirely to the analysis of the phenomenon of human trafficking. This issue will be edited by team of scientists under the direction of by Dr Irena Malinowska and Dr Bartosz Blaszczak and will be a valuable resource for professionals and researchers.
