Middle East Laboratory WSKZ - invitation to expert meeting
The College of Vocational Education invites you to an expert meeting on 15th April 2026. „Saudi Vision 2030 – Between Giga-Projects and Geopolitics”, dedicated to the transformation of the state, economy, and Saudi Arabia's model of influence in the SWANA/MENA region. The online event is part of the „Middle East Laboratory” series, organised by the Institute of Criminology and Internal Security of WSKZ.
Hosting and guests
The meeting will be led by Experts specialising in the Middle East issue and analysis of the socio-political and cultural processes of the region:
- Dr Magdalena El Ghamari, Institute of Criminology and Internal Security, WSKZ, Wrocław.
- Dr Blanka Dżugaj, journalist, orientalist, doctor of humanities, traveller, founder of the Kulturazja service, programme host Unknown Asia.
What will be the focus of the discussion?
The meeting will focus on Analysis of the assumptions and consequences of „Vision 2030”. This is a strategic programme for the rebuilding of the state, economy, and Saudi Arabia's position on the regional and global stage. The mechanisms of reform and their institutional framework will be discussed. It will also present The significance of such tools as the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in building a state's economic and geopolitical potential.
Particular attention will be paid mega-project, such as NEOM, The Line, New Murabba or Diriyah. The meeting will also address the following issues:
- tensions between social modernisation and political control;
- the role of young society in change processes;
- sustainability of reforms and their potential strategic costs;
How is „Vision 2030” changing security in the region?
The second part of the discussion will cover consequences of „Vision 2030” for regional security and the regional balance of power. With particular reference to:
- Saudi Arabia's relations with Iran;
- the situation in Yemen;
- energy policy (OPEC+);
- new forms of projecting influence (from investment to soft power and sports diplomacy).

Psychology in the Service of the Community – Intensive Months for WSKZ Students (February-March 2026)
Students from the Faculty of Psychology at WSKZ are demonstrating that education can truly change lives. Under the guidance of lecturer Bartosz Głowacki (Master's degree), they carried out a series of psychological workshops in February and March 2026. Their The main recipients were children, young people, parents, and adults facing various life challenges. This is further proof that studying psychology at WSKZ is not just about theory, but above all about action and experience, which prepares students for future work in the profession.
„No to Aggression” Workshops – Support for Children in Foster Care
The first meeting of the students with the youngest children took place on 10 February 2026 at the District Family Support Centre in Milicz. They prepared there Workshops for children in foster care.
The classes focused on important social issues, such as:
- Mobbing;
- relational aggression;
- Hate and difficult peer relationships.
Participants learned practical ways to respond to violence and methods for coping with emotions and stress. The workshops were interactive, allowing the children to better understand the topics discussed.
How to cope with stress? Workshops in Wrocław
Further activities took place on 28 February 2026, during a repeat of the workshops at the St. Albert the Great Shelter in Wrocław. This time, the focus was on emotional regulation and coping with stress in everyday life. During the classes, participants will:
- created a „Map of Relaxing Associations”;
- they took part in breathwork training;
- They learned relaxation techniques that can be used in everyday life.
The workshop had a practical dimension. and were tailored to the individual needs of the participants.
Child safety in the age of artificial intelligence – workshop for parents and educators
At the beginning of March, there were Workshops at the Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre in Milicz, aimed at parents and educators. The meeting concerned a highly topical issue, which is The impact of artificial intelligence on children and adolescents, and the threats in the digital environment
At the workshop, we discussed, among other things:
- The risks associated with the uncontrolled use of AI tools.;
- Ways to recognise concerning online situations;
- Practical ways to support children in using technology safely.
The classes have also become a space for sharing experiences. They showed How important is the cooperation of different environments in building the digital safety of the youngest.
Cyberbullying and AI – a meeting with young people in Trzebnica
Just a day later, 4 March 2026, the activities moved to Primary School No. 2 in Trzebnica, where they took place Workshops for sixth-grade pupils.
The meeting's agenda included:
- Cyberbullying;
- relational aggression;
- Risks arising from the use of artificial intelligence.
Thanks to the tailored form of the classes young people could actively participate in discussions and gain knowledge useful in everyday life.
Psychology studies at WSKZ – practice, experience, and societal impact
The series of workshops held in February and March 2026 shows that Psychology students at WSKZ don't just learn, they primarily act..
Thanks to this type of activity, it is possible, among other things:
- Supporting the local community;
- building psychological awareness;
- developing students' professional competencies;
- Making initial professional contacts.
It is precisely these kinds of experiences that make Studies at WSKZ effectively prepare you for a career as a psychologist.. According to presenter Bartosz Głowacki, this is only the beginning – further social projects and psychological workshops are already planned.
