On 28 March 2026, the campus of the University of Applied Sciences in Wrocław became a space for intense meetings, sharing of experiences and planning future career paths. Over 500 Management students participated in the WSKZ Job Fair, where they had the opportunity to speak directly with employers, industry experts, and representatives of public institutions. This event demonstrated how academic education can be practically linked with the realities of the job market.
Strong support from the university and partners
The event was coordinated by Dr Sylwia Zakrzewska, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology, and chief inspector (ret.) Artur Bielecki. The meeting was also held in cooperation with the Centre for Student Development and Support and the Institute of Management and Quality Sciences.
Representatives of the authorities and WSKZ units also actively participated in the event, including:
- Margaret Piórkowska – Rector's Representative for Equal Treatment;
- Dr Marika Szymańska – Director of the Institute of Management and Quality Sciences;
- Mehmet Ömürlü Deputy Director of the Institute;
- Dr Sylwia Książek – Student Development and Support Centre Coordinator;
- Małgorzata Pacer Director of the Centre for International Cooperation.
At the opening, it was emphasised that the Job Fair is not only a networking event. It is primarily element of building a conscious professional career, developing future competences and strengthening the university's relationships with the socio-economic environment.
Stakeholder Council – a bridge between studies and the job market
Played a significant role during the event Stakeholder Council WSKZ. Superintendent (ret.) Artur Bielecki highlighted the impact of university-practitioner collaboration on the quality of education. The importance of:
- adapting study programmes to market needs;
- development of practices and internships;
- creating employment pathways for students in institutions such as the Police, Prison Service, Army, and the banking sector (PKO);
- building practical skills during studies.
This is precisely the kind of action that WSKZ students enter the job market better prepared and more aware of their capabilities.
A programme full of practice and inspiration
The WSKZ Job Fair is not just Stall conversations. The programme also included:
- Expert lecture by Paweł Zbigniewski (Veolia Energia Warszawa);
- workshops on CVs and LinkedIn, salary negotiation, and workplace equality;
- One-to-one consultations with employers;
- Erasmus+ information meeting;
- networking in a relaxed, conducive atmosphere for conversation;
- employer presentations and stand conversations.
Partners and exhibitors
Among partners and exhibitors among those who appeared were:
- Horeca+;
- Military Recruitment Centre;
- The Prison Service, Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław;
- Experum, HR2 Face;
- Safety Project.
Their presence translated into concrete Discussions about jobs, internships, and career development opportunities.
Student activity and international cooperation
During the event, the Management scientific clubs also presented their initiatives, showing Student engagement in research projects and organisational activities.
The international dimension of education was also clearly expressed – Students had the opportunity to learn about travel possibilities within the Erasmus+ programme and career development in an international environment.

Psychotraumatology in practice – a nationwide conference with the participation of WSKZ
The aim of the conference „Psychotraumatology in the support system - new inspirations”, which took place on 27-28 February 2026, was dissemination of knowledge in the field of psychotraumatology and presentation of its practical application in the work of specialists. The event, co-organised by the University of Applied Sciences, brought together experts from all over Poland. Student members of the Clinical Psychology Scientific Club from the University of Applied Sciences also participated in the conference.
Expert knowledge and experience
The conference programme included presentations by female experts with many years of clinical experience and practical experience working within the support system – including in educational institutions, social welfare institutions and healthcare facilities. During the event, key issues related to working with individuals who have experienced trauma were discussed, including:
- the functioning of children and young adults diagnosed with complex trauma;
- The impact of traumatic experiences on psychosocial development;
- the specifics of working with people affected by war and refugee trauma;
- The importance of perinatal support for building the mother-child relationship.
Psychotraumatology in a support system context
On the second day of the conference, participants watched the film „Dream”, which it became the starting point for a discussion on the role of psychotraumatology in foster care and adoption processes. The conversation focused on children's experiences with traumatic histories, the challenges faced by foster and adoptive families. Attention was also paid to the role of specialists supporting these processes and actions limiting the long-term effects of trauma.
Co-operation between environments and the significance of the event
The event took place under under the patronage of the Polish Society for Psychotraumatology, with the media patronage of Polish Radio Białystok and the Honorary Patronage of the Mayor of Białystok. The conference was organised by:
- Centre for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy „Otwarci” in Białystok;
- Triada Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychotraumatology in Gdańsk;
- The Higher Vocational School in Wrocław.
The next edition has already been announced
This event confirms how important the cooperation between scientific circles and practitioners is in developing effective methods to support people experiencing trauma. Seeing the positive reception, the organisers announced another edition of the conference, which will take place on 26 February 2027, under the theme „Around Trauma Narratives”.







Professor of the WSKS at an international seminar in Finland – logistics and security at the centre of discussions
Visiting Professor Timo Hellenberg from Finland represented WSKZ during „Logistiikan Vuoksi” stakeholder seminar in Joensuu. The discussion covered topics related to security, logistics, and the strategic role of transport infrastructure in Europe. Check out the most important conclusions from the expert discussion.
Expert presentation in an international environment
During the „Vuoksi Logistics” event, Professor Timo Hellenberg spoke before representatives of public administration, the logistics sector, and port organisations. In his speech, he discussed the strategic importance of the Vuoksi inland waterway for transport and security in Europe.
He stressed that in the current geopolitical situation Infrastructure is ceasing to be solely an element of the economy and transport. It is increasingly becoming an important pillar of security, resilience, and strategic autonomy for states and regions.
Security challenges in Northern and Eastern Europe
In his speech, the Professor drew attention to The growing importance of hybrid threats in Northern and Eastern Europe. Among them, he indicated, among others:
- cyberattacks;
- sabotage;
- organised crime activities;
- operations related to states.
He noted that contemporary threats are increasingly centred on logistics, transport infrastructure, energy systems and digital ones. He also stressed that this situation requires a new approach to security management and strategic planning.
The significance of the Vuoksi waterway
In the context of geopolitical changes and the transformation of European logistics routes, the Professor emphasised The strategic importance of the Vuoksi waterway. She indicated its role in ensuring supply security for Finland, supporting the economic development of the eastern part of the country, and strengthening Europe's resilience.
International staff activity and the quality of education
Visiting Professor's participation in international expert debates and representing the university on the international stage forms an essential element in building the quality of education at the Wrocław University of Applied Sciences.
Access to up-to-date expert knowledge in the field of security, logistics and the functioning of organisations in conditions of dynamic geopolitical changes translates directly into the development of student competencies, and also influences the adaptation of study programmes to the requirements of the modern labour market.
The Role of the International Cooperation Centre
The activities of the International Cooperation Centre of WSKZ deserve special emphasis, which actively supports the university's internationalisation process. It initiates and develops cooperation with foreign partners and enables academic staff to participate in international scientific and expert events. Professor Timo Hellenberg's participation in the „Logistiikan Vuoksi” seminar is an example of WSKZ's commitment to international expert dialogue. The online event is part of the „Middle East Laboratory” series, organised by the Institute of Criminology and Internal Security of WSKZ.

The meeting will be led by Experts specialising in the Middle East issue and analysis of the socio-political and cultural processes of the region:

What will be the focus of the discussion?
The meeting will focus on Analysis of the assumptions and consequences of „Vision 2030”. This is a strategic programme for the rebuilding of the state, economy, and Saudi Arabia's position on the regional and global stage. The mechanisms of reform and their institutional framework will be discussed. It will also present The significance of such tools as the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in building a state's economic and geopolitical potential.
Particular attention will be paid mega-project, such as NEOM, The Line, New Murabba or Diriyah. The meeting will also address the following issues:
